THE CONCEPT

A real feature of Paris, Le Bois de Boulogne, one of the two green lungs of the capital, is undergoing a real revival. Each summer, ten million Parisians missing nature come and profit from this relaxing site which is at the same time chic and working class, which is cared for rain and shine by hundreds of workers from the Paris Municipality. Donated for public use in 1853 by Napolean III, the Bois de Boulogne today covers a ground area of 800 hectares (almost 2,100 acres), twice the size of Central Park, New York, and even three times the size of the famous Hyde Park in London. A forest at the door of Paris that holds more than one secret. Gastronomique restaurants, top drawer sports clubs and prestigious art foundations attract a select client base seeking luxury.

In this documentary, we discover the corridors of an iconic destination in the Bois: the restaurant Pré-Catelan holder of Michelin stars, where the chef Frédéric Anton presides. New menu, new decor, will the three star chef win his bet and make this jewel of French gastronomy continue to shine ? Not far from there another emblematic location is also being done up.
In order to keep its status, the Jardin d’acclimatation has undertaken a programme of works not seen before, this has required that a hundred or so animals be moved, before its re-opening last Spring. But for walkers and gourmets the Bois de Boulogne is not simply a place to pass through. Some live there full time, such as this family of Estate Agents specialised in the sale of prestigious properties. With them, we will be able to discover exceptional homes which blossomed at the edge of the Bois and which one only very rarely has a chance to view.
Chic and popular, Zone Interdite tells us about the incredible summer of the most famous of the Parisian woods!
