For the third year in a row, the crazy race on soap box cars took place in June in Saint-Cloud.
To reach the podium, it’s easy: a good dose of elbow grease on your speedster and lots of inventiveness!

This unique race in France gathers 52 participating teams. In groups of four (1 pilot, 3 pushers or 1 pilot, 1 co-pilot and 2 pushers), they conceptualise build and pilot their own engines. Although the selection is done on creativity and aptitude to race, the soapboxes have to respect some precise technical constraints.

Before teams take place on the starting line and the time trials, they will have to succeed the technical tests to be sure they respect the race’s rules, and that the box answers to some safety norms.

It’s behind the wheel of their boxes that the brave and brisk drivers hurtle down the 500 meters of the circuit, by making sure they push it the right way as there’s no engine power! Hairpin turns, straight lines with hills rising up to 12%… Boxes have to stay on track without rolling, or you could lose precious seconds on the time!
